Our Mission
To build a culturally relevant church in the North Scott area that reaches out to people who are disconnected from God and the church community by helping them to:
n Experience Jesus through celebrative and reflective worship.
n Connect into an expanding network of loving and interdependent relationships through small care groups.
n Learn the spiritual disciplines that help them grow in their faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.
n Learn and apply Biblical principles to the everyday tasks of life.
n Discover and employ their spiritual gifts and God-given design for ministry.
n Learn and empower them to share their faith with others.
n Join in building God’s kingdom beyond the North Scott area.
Our Values
n We believe we were created to worship, glorify and serve God.
n The Bible is the inspired word of God and is our final authority.
n We want to reach out to people who are disconnected with God. Our focus is on increasing the number of people who know God on a personal level, not in moving people from one Christ -centered church to another.
n Spiritual growth is a life -long process and is essential to a Christian lifestyle.
n Prayer is critical to deepening our relationship with God and is an essential part of our congregational life and activities.
n We are called to actively serve others in the community.
n Children are important to God , and therefore it is critical we have a strong ministry that supports children and families.
n God has given all of us gifts , and we want to connect people into the ministry by helping them discover and utilize their gifts.
n We believe laughter is important. We are serious about our faith, but we want to have fun while we are serving God.
Our Worship
To create joyful worship gatherings that invite people to experience the awe, wonder and transforming power of Jesus Christ by teaching God’s Word in a truthful, relevant style and using uplifting and meaningful music, drama, and video.
Our Beliefs
n GOD - We believe in one true God, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all.
n JESUS - We believe that Jesus Christ is completely God. Jesus is God's son and came to earth as a baby and was also completely human. Jesus lived a perfect life on earth and proved Himself to be the Messiah verbally and through His ministry. Jesus death on the cross and resurrection pays the penalty for our sin and provides us with eternal life. Jesus is Lord and Savior to all who believe and put their trust in Him.
n HOLY SPIRIT - We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God to transform the lives of believers into the likeness of Christ. He lives in the hearts of believers and helps guide, instruct, fill, comfort, and empower the believer for godly living and service through individually bestowed spiritual gifts and the natural talents
n MAN - God created us in His image; that sin brought separation from God; and that all mankind are sinners and are under just condemnation without defense or excuse. We believe that all people are immoral and corrupt and in need of a Savior.
n ETERNAL LIFE - We believe that all who admit their sin, believe by faith that Jesus sacrificial death on the cross paid for their sins, and receive Jesus as their Savior and Lord are no longer separated from Him but become eternal children of God. We believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to become a Christian and receive eternal life.
n GOD'S WORD - We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our ultimate and final authority for faith in practice. We believe the Bible is without error in the original writing. We believe the 66 books of the Old Testament and New Testament are God's completed and sufficient revelation for the total well-being of mankind.
n CHURCH - We believe that the Church is the radiant bride of Christ, a universal spiritual body made up of all believers who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, each of whom is a vital part of God's plan. God is relational in all that he is. It is part of God's nature to be loving and relational. God created us to be in community. He desires to have a relationship with us and for us to relate with each other and the church is that place where fellowship and community happens. The Bible commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, observance of the ordinances (baptism and communion), fellowship, service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts, and outreach to the world in fulfillment of the command of Christ to make disciples of all believers.
